Hello there.
It has been a crazy busy month, and I just have to thank everyone who helped the very first Spectacular Crafternoon to be such a success! When I say everyone, that means EVERYONE who generously shared their great creations, who came to support the local artists and crafters, and all the others who helped this event to be success one way or another whether they know it or not. I’m sure there were things that weren’t perfect, but I was very happy to see so many happy faces and to see new connections being formed. It was very important to me.
Special thanks goes to Laura, who helped me make this happen in so many ways including creating the awesome flyer that brought so many people into the event! You are awesome!

Beautiful Maddie, who’s sporting KanoKano necklace that she handselected herself! She is so cute! (Sorry about the blurry image… I was too excited photographing my cutest model.)

And of course, I want to thank every one of you who bought my KanoKano pieces!
It always makes me happy to see people looking at my jewelry and trying on my jewelry.

Now I’ve gotta get ready for a month-long vacation to Japan! I will miss my hubby terribly, but I just need to spend time with my family, and it will be such a treat to see them after not seeing them for close to 2 years…

Hope you all have a great day!

Oh my god, ladies and gentlemen, I found this wood sculptor’s site while I was in blogland.
That’s the BEST house I have ever seen, hands down. look! And I love his sculptures, the warmth that wood can give is just awesome. I have been having a lot of inspirational encounters lately, and I’m trying my best to jot down/to email myself with links of inspiration sources. I learned it from my boss, well, she leaves herself a message on the machine what need to be done and other things for later, and I thought I could use the idea for my inspirational encounter sources via email.

Speaking of inspirations, I have been crazy about ferns lately.
I just love the shapes and patterns they create, and I have been hunting down great images of them for my next gocco projects and jewelry deigns. Ah.

Sorry about the blurry image… but this is the set up of KanoKano at West End Antiques. The shop is beautiful. They have very cute items, and I love their taste. If you happen to be in Winston Salem, please stop by there. It’s right across from Hanes Park on Reynolda Rd.

And there are a few more images from the day I set up my jewelry there.

I love those knobs above. They are very fun. I have to get a few for future use…

When I stepped outside to go to work this morning, I sensed it. I smelled spring. Some people say that I’m crazy when I say this, but I know that there’s certain way the air smells before a) rain/snow and b) season changes. I guess growing up in a rural mountain area helped me to have this sense? Or, those people who say they can’t sense it have to try to sense it to know what I’m talking about. I’ve been thinking about this kind of things lately. People need to relax. I’m not saying that they have to take vacation. Just relax your shoulders and breathe in the changes outside even for a second. I breathed in the spring air really deeply this morning, so I feel great right now. I know it’s going to get cold again soon, but I can tell spring is right around the corner. Well, a couple of block away anyway.

These are the newest addition to my Crafternoon wares. I made 3 more since this picture was taken. I made them as pen cases when I started, but I found out that small to medium sized eye-glasses or sunglasses can fit in them! I happened to use some felt lining, so it’s nice and soft and thick. They are very fun to make, and they look fun, don’t they?

KanoKano jewelry sales at West End Antiques will be happening this Saturday, so please come and check it out this Saturday, Feb 11, all day.

Laura tagged me with this… Well, let’s try it.

9) 4 Vehicles You’ve Owned

ZERO! I had a moped back home, but it was my brother’s… I don’t even have a driver’s license…

Well, I don’t have anyone to tag… I’ll tag someone when I have more cyber friends.

I hope you are having a great day!

So here she is, Lady G. I don’t know why her name is Lady G, but I had to come up with something soulful, and it was the best I could do. She is a gift from my brother-in-law, Rob, and he said the lady who was at the check out station looked at him like he was crazy as he was checking her out… When he saw this Lady G, who is awesomely scary and funny and great all at the same time, he just knew she was for me… Maybe you’ll see her hanging out on the display table with my jewelry very soon. But be careful, she is a lady. Not a guy.

On KanoKano tips, I just met these nice and generous ladies from West End Antiques, which happens to be a few doors down from where I work. They are interested in carrying my jewelry (hooray!), and I went there with all my goodies yesterday. They came up with the idea of me setting up an area in their shop on Saturday, February 11 all day. So, if you would like a sneak peek before the Crafternoon, please come by there!

It’s getting closer to the day of the Crafternoon!
Please let me know if you need any info about it.
