Here are a few pieces of my newly wrapped up pieces…

When I was writing last post I felt frustrated on and tired of the things that had been going on. But at the same time it felt like it was about to take turn for the better. I should not speak too soon, but I can feel the things are shifting. I don’t know how things work most of the time, but there are some moments in life that I can just feel some things click. I felt some of those clicks this week, and I want to thank those who helped me feel them. You might not know what you did, but I do, and I am really thankful for your sweet words, warm gestures and support. Where would I be without you guys?

Thanks for stopping by. I hope your weekend will be a wonderful one!

So.

I think I am in the state now that the life has been giving me a lemon.  A big juicy lemon that is (or maybe more than just one), and I don’t seem to be able to squeeze it right to make lemonade out of it.  It seems like every single thing that I was hoping to work out  is falling through the cracks.  Well, I guess not every single thing.  And I guess I’m doing some serious learning so that I would know what to/not to do in similar situations in the future.  Thank god I’m healthy right now.

I can’t wait for this storm to pass, I swear.

This is my new work in progress.  I finally tried liver of sulfur on sterling to add patina, and it was a little adventure.  I used to think it was something that was very toxic.  But it turned out not too bad, and I realized it was something that’s in mineral hot springs.  I should have looked up what it was with my translator long time ago…  I’m from one of  hot-spring-haven parts of Japan and should have known what it was had I looked it up.

Anyway, here it is, a lariat  which is getting ready to be polished.  Like I mentioned before I have been in a wire wrapping phase, and there are lots of new pieces that might be antiqued in the same manner.  I can’t wait for next Gallery Hop at Urban Artware to show you all I have been making…

Have a nice one!

Hi there.

I hope you are not melted away where you are. Of course there’s always a chance for the visitor to be from other side of the globe… It is VERY hot in southern part of US, and that includes where I live. I think I’m ready for our sweet autumn.

I have just added a hand full of jewels to the shop , so please go over there to check them out. Unfortunately I have not figured out how to keep only newly added items in New Items category, so you might have to dig a little… there’s a lot to learn!

We have been lucky receivers of lots of home grown tomatoes lately. Since they were ripe and I could not resist to try out new fresh tomato recipes, I did some search and found a very easy and wonderful bruschetta recipe.

INGREDIENTS – yields 2 cups/8 servings

  • 2 tomatoes, cubed
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 4 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • seasoning salt to taste
  • ground black pepper to taste

DIRECTIONS

In a medium bowl, mix tomatoes, dried basil, Parmesan cheese, olive oil, garlic, seasoning salt and ground black pepper. Cover and chill in the refrigerator 8 hours, or overnight, before serving.  Serve it on slices of toasted French bread.

Happy hump day!

It’s August already, and I have new pieces to share…  These babies are going to Urban Artware for this month.  If you happen to be in Winston Salem this Friday, Gallery Hop night, please stop by!

First two are from my newest styles I’m learning.  Eni Oken, a jewelry designer who is wonderfully skilled in this special area, offers a lot of tutorials for very small fees.  I am very thankful for her generosity…  Lately I have been just coiling and wrapping (really thin wires around bigger wires and stones) my evenings away.  It seems like lots more to come, so please be on the look out if you are interested!
